NOTES
This project started with an interest in uniforms and how they are designed to be utilitarian and aesthetically crisp. Having researched different types of uniforms, the chef attire really fascinated me (my ongoing binge of Chef's Table might have some to do with that). Reading reviews of various chef coats I quickly found out that many professional chefs out there didn't like their work uniform. Something that is their honor and pride, is not practical in theory. I was immediately hooked.
This project was a great learning experience in terms of soft goods design and construction. It also helped me extensively research material and spend hours in fabric stores understanding construction of fabric and how that affects its performance.
