notes
This project was an effort to integrate design strategy and user experience with industrial design.
That’s not how it started, however.
Wanting to design products in the realm of travel, I quickly realized that this was going to be more about an experience than a physical artifact. So I changed my focus to design an entire system that works to achieve the ideal travel experience I was going for. Full disclosure, this project is not sponsored by AirBnB, I designed hardware and experience utilizing their existing ecosystem because it made most sense with the brand and also offered me a unique challenge of designing something physical for a brand in the digital space.
I learned a lot from speaking with an expert at AirBnB, and exploring the word play in different ways. This project also helped me think holistically about strategy, brand identity, user experience and industrial design, all at the same time. The process behind the project was also highly collaborative with constant guidance from my mentors, teachers and experts in the field.
